Ernest P. Barka served a lifetime of community service from School Boards to State Representative to County Commissioner. His civic passion was unequaled. In 2002, the Rockingham County Board of Commissioners honored Commissioner Barka’s continuing life of public service by naming the assisted living facility in his honor. The facility dedication ceremony was conducted on February 15, 2003.
