DESCRIPTION:**This Public Hearing has been cancelled. \nROCKINGHAM COUNTY \nPublic Hearings Notice \nCommunity Development Block Grant Project \nThe Rockingham County Commissioners will hold two consecutive Public Hearings on Thursday\, July 6\, 2023\, at 3:00 pm\, at the Maureen Barrows Conference Room of the Rockingham County Rehabilitation and Nursing Center\, 117 North Road\, Brentwood\, NH. Community Development Block Grant funds are available to municipalities through the NH Community Development Finance Authority (NH CDFA). Up to $500\,000 annually is available on a competitive basis for public facility projects\, up to $500\,000 for housing projects\, up to $500\,000 for economic development projects\, and up to $350\,000 annually is available for emergency activities. Up to $25\,000 is available per planning study. All projects must primarily benefit low and moderate income persons. The public hearings will be on the following: \n\nA proposed application to the Community Development Finance Authority for up to $500\,000 in CDBG Public Facility Grant Funds.  Of the grant funds\, up to $30\,000 will be retained by the County for administrative/labor compliance costs associated with the project\, up to $470\,000 of the funds will be subgranted to NH Catholic Charities/New Generation to increase their homeless shelter facility\, 568 Portsmouth Avenue\, Greenland\, NH 03840\, from 27 people capacity (mothers and children) to 35 people capacity by moving their offices and renovating the third floor.  In addition\, the offices will be relocated to the current thrift shop next to the shelter at 9 Tide Mill Road\, Greenland\, NH 03840.\nThe Anti-displacement and Relocation Assistance Plan.\n\nProvisions for persons with special needs\, provisions can be made by contacting the Commissioner’s Office\, by telephone (603-679-9350) or mail\, at least five days prior to the public hearing.  Please address comments to address below. \nRockingham County Commissioners\, \n119 North Road \nBrentwood\, New Hampshire 03833 \n(603) 679-9350
